In the summer of 1975 six or seven boys from the Cassiobury estate began to play football in Cassiobury Park.
One of the parents often joined in and noticed another group of boys from the same Cassiobury estate playing in the park. He thought it would be a good idea to organise a match between the two groups.
This became the first game of what was to become Nascot Wood Rangers Football Club.
The club has been a competitive force in grassroots football within the Watford area ever since. We hone raw talent to maturity with quality coaching, and a true love of the sport. However, we have never lost that close connection between players, coaches and parents with many getting involved to shape the club.
Teamwork, perseverance, sportsmanship - these are the hallmarks of Nascot Wood Rangers Football Club.
Our club ethos is a declaration that defines us and how we want to run as a club. It’s simple and concise and can be understood by players, parents and officials.
The key goals at Nascot Wood Rangers Football Club are as follows:
To provide grassroots football to children in the Watford area from the age of 6 through to 18.
To deliver age appropriate coaching to support long-term player and personal development based upon the FA’s four-corner model.
To offer a challenging but supportive environment where our players can make and learn from their mistakes on the pitch without fear or undue pressure. A mistake is an opportunity to learn and improve and a player not trying again due to worrying about it would be the real mistake.
To encourage all players to try their best and make the most of their abilities.
To promote good behaviour and respect for others.
To enjoy our football !!! We as a club understand that playing for Nascot Wood Rangers Football club is a choice amongst many in the area and we want to be known as a well run club, supportive of it's players, respectful of it's opponents and officials and a great club to be part of either as a player, coach or parent supporter.
Our committee is made up of volunteers who graciously give up their time to help shape and steer the club for the benefit of all our players.

Nascot Wood Rangers are driven by a strong desire to provide good quality coaching within a safe environment for our players.
All our coaches as DBS checked. As with our committee members our coaches are also all volunteers. As a club we support our coaches with funding to complete the FA Introduction to Coaching Football course (formerly "FA Level 1 in Coaching Football"). This course provides the necessary Coaching, Safe Guarding and First Aid qualifications to support players with their development.
We are incredibly grateful to our coaches and the time they give to support our players and grassroots football.
